“The Many Trials of a Christian Leader”

  2 Corinthians 11

The Apostle Paul now chooses to share his experiences as a Christian leader—many of which were painful, afflicting, and so severe that most people would have quit the ministry long ago.

What kept Paul going, and moving forward?

23 “Are they servants of Christ? (I am out of my mind to talk like this.) I am more. I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 24 Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea…”   2 Corinthians 11:23-25 (NIV)

1)  When serving God gets tough, don’t quit!

Paul said, “I just want to complete the assignment the Lord gave me—the work of telling others

the Good News about God’s wonderful kindness and love.”  Acts 20:24b

2)  When people don’t understand you, don’t write them off.

People you care about may frustrate you at times, but it’s worth the effort to keep reaching

      toward them.

3)  When you get the opportunity, keep pointing people to Jesus.

He is the One who can save them and change their lives forever!
