ARE YOU ACTUALLY FOLLOWING JESUS?
Luke 1:26-47
A Great Start: (Luke 1:26-47)
Choose to trust God even when you don’t understand the events of your life.
God’s favor is on those people with a teachable heart and whose faith leads to action.
Classic Mistakes And Great Recoveries:
1) Trying to control Jesus (John 2:1-11):
Good intentions are not necessarily God’s best plan.
The right goal with the wrong timing or method is not good.
When you overstep your role, quickly return to your proper place.
2) Overconfident about your walk with Jesus (Luke 2:41-52):
Long-term Christians can have the biggest blind spots: help them.
Jesus gives larger portions to those who are spiritually hungry.
Treasure the wisdom, plans, and presence of Jesus.
3) Halfway following Jesus (Mark 3:20-21 and John 19:26-27):
Stop rejecting the parts of God’s Word that you don’t like.
Jesus elevates people who don’t underestimate Him.
Go towards Jesus and close to Him after you have blown it.
