ASKING HONEST QUESTIONS
Habakkuk 1:1-2:20

A Strong Question For God:
Why aren't my prayers changing the situation and how long do I have to wait (1:2-4)?
God responds with a prophetic word: something amazing will happen (1:5).
God responds with insight: His work is under the surface right now (1:6-10).

The first whisper: spiritual growth helps redeem the loss of physical comforts.

A Burning Question For God:
How can God tolerate it when people who do evil things flourish (1:12-13)?
God often uncovers more of His purposes in responding to honest questions.

God's answers include information and application:
1) Will you live by faith as you wait for God to complete His work (2:2-4)?
2) Can you accept that God hasn't missed any of the details, and His standards haven't changed (2:6-19)?

The second whisper: your peace of mind will be found on God's throne (2:20).
