SORTING THROUGH A MESS
Acts 15:1-41
What Kind Of A Mess? (15:1-5)
1) False Teaching: Adding to the Scriptures.
2) Legalism: Trying to enforce your individual convictions on everyone else.
3) Disunity: Having animosity and unhealthy divisions.
Navigating Through Difficult Issues:
1) Don't avoid the elephant in the room for too long (15:6-11).
2) There should be a sufficient amount of discussion before deciding on a solution (15:12-21).
3) Don't forget these important questions (15: 22-35):
a) Have you communicated as clearly as possible?
b) What is truly best for everyone?
c) What is in agreement with The Holy Spirit?
4) The healing process is important (15:36-41):
a) You can be hurt without harboring a mean bitterness.
b) Don't lose your spirituality when you don't like something.
c) Stay open to God's work of reconciliation.
