Chidamoyo Christian Hospital (Zimbabwe)

Kathy is our church’s Living Link, full-time paid staff member serving overseas. The Chidamoyo Christian Hospital opened in 1968 and is located in the NW part of Zimbabwe, Africa.

After completing a 2-year internship, Kathy re-opened the hospital in 1981 which had been closed due to war and civil unrest.

Kathy is a Registered Nurse MSN and the Missionary Nurse in charge of the bush hospital. The hospital provides quality medical and spiritual care for a patient population of nearly 70,000 people.

Our adult and children’s Sunday school classes raise support for orphan needs in the area.

Inter-Church Food Pantry

The Interchurch Food Pantry began in 1983. It is an interdenominational pantry that provides food for those in need in the Sebastopol, Occidental, and Graton areas.

Support is collected through both monetary and non-perishable food donations from area churches, businesses, and non-profit organizations. With 50+ volunteers, the pantry serves over 8,000 people a year.

The pantry is located in a building on the St. Stephens church campus in Sebastopol. The hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until Noon.

The focus of Redwood Gospel Mission is “bringing real change to the least, the last, and the lost in our community.”

Since 1963, the organization has helped thousands of people in Sonoma County break free from homelessness, poverty and addiction.

The Mission has become the largest privately funded provider of services to the poor in the North Bay.

There are four sites in Santa Rosa that encompass the mission: a men’s mission and homeless shelter, a women’s mission, a women’s shelter, and their ministry support center. In addition, the mission also has a thrift store.

Niños de Mexico

Niños De Mexico is a non-profit organization with a mission to serve the people of Mexico, especially overlooked children.

They operate a Christian orphanage located near Mexico City. Niños cares for the spiritual, physical, and medical needs of over 60 children and youth.

The organization has a Christian school providing for the educational needs of the orphans. Niños is also engaged in planting churches and ministries throughout Mexico.

The adult and children’s Sunday school of our church support Ana Cordova who is in the Niños program.

IFES (in Ukraine)

The International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, (linked with InterVarsity) began in England and has spread all over the world.

The mission of the organization is “students reaching students with the Gospel worldwide.”

Vladimir directs the IFES movement and oversees campus ministry throughout the Eurasia region.

Vladimir and his wife, Anya, and children Dara and Ivan reside in Kiev.

The Pregnancy Counseling Center of Sonoma County started in 1985. With a staff of 3 and over 50 volunteers, the non-profit serves over 3,000 clients each year.

Services include maternity and baby resources, early prenatal medical care, childbirth and parenting classes, post-abortion and sexual abuse recovery groups, and a youth education program.

Volunteers are needed and training classes are available. In addition to the main campus in Santa Rosa, PCC also has a center in Rohnert Park.

The worldwide organization began in 1937 and now has workers in more than 160 countries.
 

The chapter in Sebastopol began in 2000. They meet once a week from September through May in various locations.

Our church hosts classes each Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. All children are welcome to attend.

Korea Gospel Mission

                                                                                                                                                                                                                      In 1962, the Chaes started the Korea Gospel Mission. Today, the mission is sending and supporting Korean missionaries throughout Asia.

With God’s help, the Chae’s have pioneered two schools: the Bible Correspondence School and Seoul Christian University. The KGM outreach includes teaching, planting churches, broadcasting radio messages, hosting meetings, and publishing Christian books.

Dr. Chae and his wife also began the Geon Christian Children’s Home in 1966, which today takes care of 83 children.

The adult and children’s Sunday school of our church raise support for an orphan in the program.

Christian World Mission
CWM began operating in 1977 when the Phillips family arrived in Santiago, Chile. The main focus of their work is to start Christian schools, institutions and churches. By the grace of God, they have planted over 100 churches, established 10 schools and have over 75,000 participants in Bible courses. Their children are Nathan, Josh, and April.

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship - Reno, Nevada
Troy and Jackie Tisthammer began their ministry with InterVarsity on the University of Nevada - Reno campus in August of 2009. The campus population is 16,000 students. Their staff of five has a group of over 180 people.

Both Troy and Jackie were involved in the InterVarsity program when they attended college. The personal impact IV had on the Tisthammers lead them to have a strong passion for discipleship among the student leaders as they joined the staff.

Now, Troy and Jackie are a part of organizing campus activities, outreach, Bible studies, and leadership events.

Troy grew up attending Sebastopol Christian Church.

The training is very easy and the opportunity is incredible. Last year, over 10 million people indicated making decisions to put their trust in Jesus through this ministry. It is very rewarding to be connected with this ministry. God is using technology to spread His love and the good news about Jesus.
